Window Cleaner
The motifs in the "Cleaner" light box series can be fitted as photos into small windows or panes of glass up to 50 x 40 cm in size. This is the way they were first displayed in the "Face to Face" exhibition at Galerie Gabriele Rivet from October 30 - December 21, 2002.
The "Window-Cleaner" can be viewed from either side of the windows. They include two photos of the same motif, though one is reversed and thus lies exactly on top of the other. This "sandwich" photograph has been laminated on one side with a two-millimeter thick sheet of acrylic glass. The other, unprotected side of the photo is attached to the window. The viewer thus has the impression that the hand is just behind the glass, regardless of from which side it is viewed.
