Video Guards for Hagen
1994 – video installation for 3 monitors
This work was commissioned by the Karl Ernst Osthaus Museum in Hagen, Germany and was shown there during the exhibition "Platons Höhle"/"Planton's Cave" from September 24 - December 4, 1994. The director of the museum, Dr. Michael Fehr, and four women as museum as guards, performed as the "video guards" for the work. They alternate in appearing on the three monitors in the museum, and observe and reprimand the visitors.
