On The Lurk

A man armed with binoculars, pocket bottle and shotgun watches the surrounding area from the upper window of a gazebo. He notes special occurrences and targets all foreign visitors to the garden colony. It is not quite clear whether this guard is a hunter or a cowboy in the "wild west" of Berlin.
The video projection was specially developed for this wooden hut, which was long owned by a policeman family. It is located in a small garden colony between Spreekanal and the Plötzensee youth penitentiary in Berlin-Charlottenburg.
The work was part oft he group exhibition „Facing Realities“ (Jan 26 – Feb 21, 2019), curated by Phillipp Barth and The Art Union.
