2012 – 1:16 min, HD Video

Thirty table lamps are being switched on and off rhythmically. Most of them were loan from a film and theater props pool of the former German Democratic Republic, mixed with contemporary examples. The short video can be seen as a ride through the design history of table lamps, but also literally as a light installation. The virtual bulbs illuminate the real space. At the same time the monitor or video projector itself is addressed as a light transmitting media.

The monitor can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Dependent on that the displayed editing version has to be different. On the horizontal version the lamps take turns on the left and right to the center, on the vertical monitor all lamps are positioned in the center.
