Sun Bath in a Cat Litter Tray
2005 – video projection on sand in a cat litter tray
A cat litter box sits on the floor in the corner of a room. Unexpectedly, the viewer discovers an idyll on its sand-covered bottom: There, lying on a towel, a person dressed in swimwear is pleasantly bathing in the light of a small video projector.
This installation is a miniature version of the three-channel, room-filling installation “Sonnenbad” (Sunbath, 2004) and was first shown as part of the solo exhibition “Body-Bilder“(Body Images, 2005) at the Galerie Gabriele Rivet in Cologne.
