Sleepless Man

2003 – 20:11 min, SD video, projection onto a wall

The viewers are confronted with an intimate situation. The projection on the wall shows a blue bed from the side. A man is lying on the bed under a yellow sheet, tossing and turning. He is trying to find his eyes closed. What keeps him awake? The sounds change depending on the presentation location. None of the sounds underlines the image, but instead, contrasts it and oscillates between the poles of peace and agitation, security and threat. The regular ticking can stem from a normal alarm clock just as much from a time bomb.

This video work can be presented together with "SLEEPLESS WOMAN" as it was shown at the "Second International Installation Triennale" at the Haifa Museum of Art, Israel, 2003
