Under Cover - Pillow
In a dark space, an illuminated pillow lies on the ground. One thinks to recognize a human head and arm inside the pillowcase, vainly trying to free themselves. A nightmarish scenario. The viewer can hardly distinguish whether the shadows and folds are real or projected.
“Under Cover” includes a series of work that can be projected onto white fabrics of different types and sizes, such as pillows, blankets, towels, carpets or mattresses, depending on the specific space and situation.
Normally, Anna Anders realizes colorful video works with actors. Yet this group of works renounce color and direct illustration. Hardly anything can be seen anymore; it can only be imagined.
