Walkman I and II

1986 – 1:20 and 1:30 min

With plugs in his ears, the Walkman-listener is transferred into a different (audio) space. He looks lost in reverie. Forgetting himself, he hums or sings. This looks a bit strange to outsiders. They hear only bits and pieces, sound bits, metallic beats. Rooms and spaces overlap. Pay attention to the bits of text:

"Walkman I": " ... instead of, instead of doing something sensible, they have fun instead, they have fun and of course they fall in the mud ..." (from the "Dreigroschenoper" by Brecht/Weill).

"Walkman II": " ... you fool, you fool, you foolish fool you, ... look at yourself ..." (from "Du Depp"(You Fool) by the Bavarian band Haindling).

walkman I actor: Oliver Mitgutsch, walkman II actor: Christoph Heyden
